Chief Risk Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned risk management professional to join our team as Chief Risk Officer. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk strategies that align with business objectives and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a multi-year risk roadmap that identifies and mitigates potential risks to the organization.
  • Establish the organization as a recognized industry leader in risk management by creating compelling narratives and strategic insights.
  • Develop high-quality thought leadership content to drive strategic impact.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders to develop valuable insights and transform complex subject matter into consumable content.
  • Plan and execute industry events to showcase risk capabilities and drive meaningful dialogue.
  • Drive the creation of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for Regional Risk Officers and ensure consistent cascading throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Core Strategy & Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in strategy development and execution at top-tier management consulting firms or equivalent strategy roles at major multinational financial institutions.
  • An advanced degree from a top-tier institution with a strong analytical and quantitative foundation.
  • Deep experience in financial services is required, with payments industry experience being advantageous but not essential.

  • A proven ability to independently identify opportunities and drive implementation without constant supervision or guidance.
  • A demonstrated track record of delivering measurable outcomes and driving strategic initiatives from conception to successful completion in fast-paced environments.
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong ownership mindset who thrives in ambiguous situations.

Communication & Analytical Skills

  • The ability to synthesize complex information into compelling storylines and strategic narratives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • A strong capability in developing high-quality thought leadership materials and executive-level presentations.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Thinking

  • The ability to effectively work with and influence diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional capability to rapidly analyze and synthesize information from multiple disparate sources.
  • The ability to quickly adapt strategic approaches and recommendations based on changing market conditions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience organizing and leading large-scale industry events.
  • A track record of building and leading high-performing strategy or consulting teams.
  • A strong network within the financial services and payments ecosystem.
