Merchandising Career Overview

The role of a Garment Merchandiser is pivotal in the fashion industry, requiring exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. We are seeking an experienced professional to spearhead the merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between buyers and internal teams (production, design, quality) ensuring seamless communication.
  • Understand buyer requirements and develop samples for timely approvals.
  • Manage Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order, guaranteeing efficient production schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure trims and fabrics on time.
  • Monitor order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to prevent delays.
  • Prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with buyers regarding order updates, changes, and queries.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate merchandising records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and buyer requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), ERP/MIS systems, and knowledge of garment construction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
