Job Title: Chief Information Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer to lead our technology team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our university's technology infrastructure and services.

This position involves a blend of hands-on technical support, system administration, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, system administration, or network management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily IT operations, including network availability, server performance, and system uptime.
  • Provide advanced technical support for hardware and software issues for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Manage day-to-day IT tasks and user requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Implement and manage software deployment, updates, and patching across the university's systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.
  • Proven experience working in a university or educational environment is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
  • Experience with Firewall, Endpoint Protection System (EPS), and Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) administration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with database management (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience with IT security best practices, antivirus solutions, and data backup strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
