Financial Modeling Specialist

About the Role:

The Lead Analyst will be responsible for providing high-quality financial modeling and credit analysis support to our clients. This includes developing and maintaining comprehensive financial/credit models to assess credit quality, identifying financial strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks, and presenting findings, analysis, and recommendations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Spread and analyze financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement) of FIG/BFSI borrowers in a bank-specific financial modeling template
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), Interpret financial ratios (Leverage ratios, Profitability ratios, Valuation Ratios) / key metrics to assess profitability, cost-efficiency, and financial health of borrowers
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial/credit models (including revenue and expenses model) to assess credit quality
  • Identify financial strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks to support lending specialists and credit officers in decision-making
  • Deep understanding of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements in the BFSI sector
  • Monitor and interpret the impact of events, news, and economic developments on credit quality
  • Present findings, analysis, and recommendations, highlighting a borrower's ability to meet obligations
  • Mentor and train team members while managing workload allocation and planning
  • Prepare and share periodic governance reports and trackers with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Address client feedback and implement corrective measures to improve deliverables and processes
  • Supervise 2-4 FTEs, ensuring performance and development objectives are met
  • Manage client communications, including calls and regular updates
  • Write detailed credit reviews, summarizing strengths, weaknesses, liquidity, leverage, cash flow, and coverage metrics will be an added advantage
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience of financial / credit modeling
  • Strong knowledge of advanced excel formulas
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, planning and analysis
  • Strong understanding of credit research concepts
  • Familiarity with banking or credit analysis systems such as Moody's Risk Analyst, S&P Capital IQ, or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication skills to manage client interactions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong team culture
  • Ability to complete team tasks efficiently on schedule
  • Master's degree with a major in finance, accounting from a reputed institute with 5+ years' experience in the similar profile
  • Experience with Global banking clients is highly preferred
