Lead Data Architect

Job Description:

As a seasoned Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's data strategy, designing and implementing scalable data solutions that drive business growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop architectural plans, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing data warehouses, lakes, and marts to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes to ensure high-quality data ingestion and processing.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to mentor and guide the development of data architecture principles and standards.
  • Participating in solution design reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with 4+ years leading teams.
  • Strong coding expertise in Python, JVM, and Shell scripting with production-grade experience.
  • 5+ years in cloud-native, data-intensive applications with mandatory AWS expertise.
  • Proven experience in data warehouse design & development using modern DW tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and dbt (mandatory).
  • Expert in Airflow (workflow orchestration).
  • Strong experience building & maintaining Spark applications.
  • Deep understanding of file formats: Parquet, Delta Lake, OTFs.
  • Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD).
  • Solid knowledge of unit testing & test automation frameworks.
