Job Title: Community Building Leader

About the Role:

Our organization seeks an accomplished finance professional to drive our financial strategy, fundraising efforts, and operational scale-up. As a Co-Founder of Finance & Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring we have the necessary resources, systems, and processes in place to grow sustainably from day one.

  • Financial Strategy and Fundraising:
    • Develop and manage comprehensive financial models to inform unit economics, customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and marketplace liquidity.
    • Lead all fundraising efforts: prepare investor materials, pitch decks, financial modeling, and maintain strong investor relations.
    • Create robust financial systems: accounting, compliance, reporting, unit economics analysis, and CAC/LTV tracking.
    • Oversee corporate governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Marketplace Operations:
    • Design and execute a marketplace operations playbook to drive efficiency and scalability.
    • Develop operational processes for venue partnerships, equipment rentals, and event logistics.
    • Balance marketplace liquidity by ensuring sufficient hosts and events meet attendee demand.
    • Establish trust and safety operations: dispute resolution, refunds, and community guidelines.
  • Scaling and Partnerships:
    • Manage legal and compliance frameworks: contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), corporate structure, and regulatory compliance.
    • Cultivate strategic partnerships with venues, service providers, and student organizations.
    • Develop KPI dashboards to track event volume, ticket sales, host retention, repeat attendance, and other key performance indicators.
    • Hire and manage community managers and operational staff as we grow.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in finance, consulting, or startup operations is essential.
  • Prior experience in marketplaces or consumer platforms is beneficial.
  • Comfort managing logistics, partnerships, and customer support.
  • A strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves in early execution.
  • A passion for building communities and scaling people-first businesses.
