IT Audit and Cybersecurity Specialist Job Description

Position Overview

This role involves performing IT and cybersecurity audits, assessing risks, evaluating controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct IT and Cybersecurity audits covering infrastructure, applications, networks, and security controls to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the security posture of the organization is optimal.
  • Assess IT general controls, security configurations, and vulnerability management processes to provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Review cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify control gaps across IT and security processes to prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and remediation actions to facilitate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with IT and Security teams to implement corrective actions and ensure ongoing compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (B.Tech preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity audit, or information security assessments.
  • Knowledge of ITGC, application controls, and cybersecurity frameworks to inform audit processes.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure audit processes align with industry standards.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 LA, or CEH are desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report writing skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
