About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist Associate to join our Payments Data and Analytics team. As part of this global leader, you will work with top providers of payment, fraud management, and data security solutions, supporting transactions in over 130 currencies.

The Payments Data and Analytics team crafts innovative data products that drive business operations forward. Be part of a team that impacts thousands of clients globally and promotes significant change within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead analytic projects through understanding business objectives and strategy roadmaps
  • Create robust analysis and deliverable plans to support clear and shared understanding of project requirements and goals
  • Design and develop data, queries, tables, and visualizations that deliver actionable insights as an individual contributor and collaborator
  • Through deep subject matter expertise, create recommendations to merchants on how to optimize their payment performance
  • Productionalize Tableau dashboards for resilience and user functionality
  • Apply creative solutions to the firm's biggest problems: where could our existing solutions improve?
  • Contribute to the development of data models for future analytics and platforms in conjunction with data owners and department managers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business value of each analytic effort
  • Apply quality assurance best practices for analytics services and support user feedback and questions
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or similar technical or quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience working in big data environments as a contributing member in self-directed roles
  • Deep experience across full range of database and business intelligence tools, especially SQL on Snowflake, Python, and ability for rapid prototyping in Tableau; publishing and presenting information in an engaging way
  • Understanding of algorithms and software engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to distill KPIs and other performance metrics from data
  • Intensive, recent experience in assessing and sourcing data, optimizing data structure, and managing database query performance
  • Ability to clearly develop and document analytic requirements with stakeholders
