Market Research Analyst

Job Description:
As a Market Research Analyst at Ken Research Private Limited, you will be responsible for interpreting market assessment deliverables by collecting raw data from primary and secondary sources, analyzing and interpreting the collated data in the form of a PPT document while keeping the client's objectives in mind.

Responsibilities:
1. Prepare the final presentation (PPT) deliverable
2. Conduct secondary research
3. Conduct primary research
4. Pitch projects to prospective clients and seek repeat business from existing clients
5. Undertake regular trainings

Task & Activities:
· Making PPT Deliverable
- Create the flow of the deck as per the scope based on client learning outcome statements from each section
- Understand and interpret the nuances of statistics and qualitative content collated in the Excel and how it needs to be presented in the deck in a less verbose manner, i.e., creating a blueprint
- Distil large amounts of information into specific takeaways
- Format the report in a manner where all the statistics are time-stamped and sourced properly along with the mention of general caveats/notes/references used
- Prepare the Main PPT deck in a cohesive manner and by building a proper storyboard after analyzing the data from primary and secondary sources
- Once the report is completed, the final files that include excerpt, sample report, executive summary, company profiling, and PR Files are prepared for building potential investor relations
- The individual is expected to present the deck in charge (SRA/Consultant/Senior Consultant) their findings on a regular basis
- Present to the client, as and when required, incorporating changes as per the client's requirement
- Coordinate/support the associate/analyst on the mandate to understand the data collated, seek clarity, understand gaps in secondary or primary research requirements, and conduct supply and demand side sanity checking/triangulation
- Report end-of-day (EOD) status on internal TMS (task management software)
- Learn advanced analytical tools – Tableau from in-house and self-paced trainings
· Secondary Research:
- Identify the right definition of the market size/segments in terms of price, region, product segments considered and excluded, whether it should be customer spend or all companies' revenue, and taxonomy of the product categories and its application
- Build the ecosystem including all the set of companies that exist as per different business models, identify their business models and modes of operations, sourcing, distribution channels used, whether the industry is fragmented or concentrated
- Identify all plausible direct secondary research sources and collate datapoints from various annual reports, press filings, broker reports, databases, industry association statistics, yearbooks, industry articles, DRHPs to carry out the market assessment, trends, growth drivers, challenges, investment model, competition, pricing assessment, company profiles, etc
- Build hypothesis based on data available for validation from primaries
- Learn the keywords to search for the research, build proxy models from Demand and supply side, and learn which variables can be collated from secondary sources
- Use company databases (DnB Hoovers, Euromonitor, Statista, Marketline, etc) to know which information can be sought about the industry and company related to the research ecosystem
· Primary Research:
- Create a primary tracker (incl. name, designation, company name, email ID, interview as researcher/mystery shopper, remarks, etc) and identify all the type of entity types to be connected with
- Connect with C-level executives, sales/business development department heads on LinkedIn/other local social media/chat platform
- Liaison with industry experts panel or get them onboard/handle translators/freelancer students if required
- Schedule research interviews with various industry experts and share the transcript/questionnaire first basis respondent designation, aptitude to answer the questions before a CATI (computer-assisted telephonic interview) via VOIP softphone (X-lite, warmconnect)
- Simultaneously, conduct mystery shopping via vendor selection process, potential B2B client, etc., to ascertain the authenticity of primary data points
- Conduct customer surveys by hosting questionnaire on platforms such as Zoho, survey monkey, etc.; negotiate and buy the responses; critically evaluate and build cross-tab for the responses received
- Summarize/recording all the audio interviews in the Excel mentioning the name, designation, company details, and all the questions answered
- Solicited interviews to be published on the website/blog and shared with the respondents and with SEO team for further promotion
· Pitching the projects to the prospective clients and seeking repeat business from existing clients
- Post completion of the report, the individual is expected to carry out Business Development activities and maintain potential client tracker by reaching out to potential clients over mails/LINKEDIN who would be interested to purchase the report
- Keep in loop the business development team internally on any potential lead

Measurement Metrics:
· # of PPT Deck completed in a year/quarter (9 PPT decks per year including market size, segmentation, competition benchmark, future, investment model – if any)
o Q1: 1 PPT
o Q2: 2 PPT
o Q3: 3 PPT
o Q4: 3 PPT
· # of Statistical/Factual errors identified/quality of work
· Comprehensiveness of the coverage as per client scope (100% of scope)
· #Onus to complete the PPT independently (within 4 months)
· # Time Taken to complete the PPT (3-4 weeks otherwise as per the timeline defined for the scope)
· # successful BD initiatives closed
