Job Title: Production Merchandiser

The role of a Production Merchandiser is to oversee the entire production process, from product development to delivery. This includes managing product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, logistics coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Develop pre-development samples, monitor and evaluate product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability, making necessary adjustments.
  • Costing: Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve best value for money.
  • Production Planning: Create and manage production timelines and schedules to ensure timely delivery of retail products.
  • Sourcing, Dispatch, and Payments: Source raw materials, trims, and accessories, and ensure all raw materials are planned, ordered, and followed-up stringently.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Identify and work with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and production services, negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products meet the required standards.
  • Reporting and Coordination: Coordinate with various teams, maintain daily detailed logs and updates, and track raw material consumption as per Bill of Materials.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production in a manufacturing or retail setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories and the factory supplier base.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
