Job Role:

  • The role of a Database Specialist involves designing and managing scalable database configurations, including replication for homogeneous and heterogeneous environments.

  • The role requires design and implementation of DR/resiliency strategies, cloud-based database solutions, and technology evolution initiatives.
  • Managing database migrations and upgrades, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting data corruption are also key responsibilities.
  • Account management, security/audit parameters, and periodical backups/recovery are handled by the specialist.
  • Documentation of database structures, SOPs, and ITIL-based incident/crisis management are also required.
  • Mentoring team members and driving end-to-end project management leveraging LEAN methodology for BAU optimization is essential.
  • In addition, the specialist must stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve database performance and efficiency.
  • This includes implementing new technologies and tools to streamline database operations and improve overall system reliability.
