Senior Oracle DBA Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead the administration, optimization, and security of our Oracle database landscape.

This role requires deep Oracle expertise, along with exposure to SAP Basis-related database administration to support SAP environments running on Oracle.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Administer, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot multiple Oracle databases in production, development, and QA environments.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and advanced tuning techniques.
  • Manage high availability and disaster recovery configurations using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Implement and test robust backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and/or third-party tools.
  • Automate administrative tasks and reporting using shell scripting, PL/SQL, or Python.
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis team to support SAP systems using Oracle.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in large-scale, enterprise-grade environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Performance tuning (SQL, instance-level) and backup/recovery and storage management.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience in both on-prem and cloud-based Oracle DB setups.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with SAP systems using Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of how Oracle integrates with SAP NetWeaver architecture.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • Experience with Oracle on OCI / AWS RDS / Azure.
Personal Qualities:
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership experience in database projects and mentorship of junior DBAs.
