Database Administrator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to own the performance, availability, and security of our databases across MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS-managed services.

This individual will play a key role in designing scalable data architectures, ensuring high availability, and supporting development teams with optimized queries and resilient data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain production and staging MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Implement high availability, backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure uptime and performance SLAs are met across cloud and hybrid environments
Cloud Expertise
  • Administer RDS, Aurora, and EC2-hosted database instances
  • Optimize database performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and third-party tools
Data Architecture & Design
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to model new schemas, optimize indexes, and review queries
  • Enforce best practices in database normalization, partitioning, and data lifecycle management
Security & Compliance
  • Ensure data encryption, access controls, and audit logging are in place and compliant with company policies
  • Support GDPR/SOC 2/ISO 27001 initiatives with appropriate database controls and evidence collection
Collaboration & Mentoring
  • Provide database guidance to developers and DevOps teams during code reviews and deployments
  • Share knowledge, mentor junior DBAs, and improve documentation and internal tooling
