Test Automation Architect Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Test Automation Architect, responsible for designing and implementing automated testing strategies and approaches. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

As a Test Automation Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and implementing automation test processes, strategies, and approaches for complex test requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Possessing hands-on experience with multiple open source/commercial tools, web testing, frameworks, and infrastructures for automation.
  • Defining test assessment strategies for client project requirements.
  • Analysing various products and technologies and developing POCs for demo purposes.
  • Being creative and proactive thinkers, making use of current technologies to provide extensible automation infrastructures.
  • Reviewing product requirements, functional, and design specifications to determine and prepare automated test cases.
  • Having experience working directly with customers and working with CoEs.
  • Hands-on Experience in designing various Automation Frameworks like Functional Decomposition, JavaScript/Java-based, Cucumber, Selenium Frameworks Utilizing - TDD, BDD with wrappers/helper/accelerators.
  • Performing API testing to validate the integration and functionality of backend services.
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects and issues, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Utilising automation testing frameworks and tools to streamline and automate the testing process.
  • Designing and developing automated test scripts for regression testing, API testing.
  • Monitoring and maintaining test environments, ensuring they are properly configured and represent the live/cloud environments.
  • Collaborating with the development team to ensure that software defects are properly prioritized and resolved.
  • Providing clear and concise reports on test results and overall software quality to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of IT experience with 5+ years in Test Automation.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing, including the use of testing tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools, such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Proficiency in automation testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience of using tools to support planning and tracking of timeboxed or agile approaches.
  • Ability to provide clear technical leadership whilst working collaboratively with a wider solution and bid team.
  • Strong problem-solving with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.
  • Strategic thinker, coupled with an output-focused approach to getting the job done - particularly in a bid scenario.
  • Quick learner with an in-depth understanding of the capability.
