Job Title: Data Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our platform engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-native platforms.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and Communicate Platform Vision: Develop a clear platform vision to enable business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to define priorities and solve challenges.
  • Design End-to-End Data Pipelines: Design end-to-end data pipelines leveraging AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and SageMaker.
  • Implement Data Product Storage and APIs: Implement data product storage, processing, and APIs using AWS-native tools and serverless architectures.
  • Use Fine-Grained Access Control: Use AWS Lake Formation for fine-grained access control and secure data sharing across domains.
  • Architect Multi-Tenant Data Lakes: Architect multi-tenant, domain-oriented data lakes and integrate with Redshift Spectrum / Athena for distributed querying.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code: Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Drive Platform Governance: Drive platform governance, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Mentorship and Technical Guidance: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams.
Requirements
  • Platform Engineering Experience: 12+ years of experience in platform engineering, data architect, data engineering, or solution architecture.
  • Cloud-Native Platforms: Strong expertise in building scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-native platforms.
  • AWS Experience: Proven track record in designing and managing multi-tenant systems on AWS.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Terraform Experience: Advanced skills in Terraform (IaC).
  • Databases: Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • CI/CD Experience: Strong CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
