Product Development Engineer Role

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for defining product specifications, conducting hardware design and firmware control reviews, with a focus on high-level system integration. This role involves developing product hardware specifications and requirements, reviewing hardware designs and firmware controls to ensure high-level system integration, creating test plans to verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance, evaluating reliability through Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), coordinating and tracking product development milestones with project managers and cross-functional teams, overseeing Design for Excellence (DFX) updates and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), mentoring team members on design to adhere to established technical standards, researching new development concepts for future product innovation, identifying cost-competitive technological alternatives for scaling up, validating design concepts through circuit simulations and prototyping.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Power Electronics or a related field, with 8-12 years of experience in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design.
  • Experience with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices.
  • Solid technical knowledge and system-level design experience.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple power electronics projects.
  • Experience in EMI filter design and product qualification/compliance testing.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK.
  • Skills in derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis.
  • Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience writing technical documents and board-level design details.
