Payment Operations Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payment Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the uptime and stability of critical banking applications in the financial technology space.

This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues to drive long-term solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting UPI platforms, retail banking applications, and payment gateways, as well as a strong understanding of banking protocols and digital payment workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2/3 application and production support for digital payment systems, including UPI and retail banking platforms.
  • Monitor application health, system alerts, and perform incident management to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, infrastructure, and vendor teams for issue resolution and change implementation.
  • Document support procedures, run books, and incident reports.
  • Act as an SME for payment systems and support audits and compliance-related activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8-11 years of experience in application support, production support, or IT operations.
  • Hands-on experience supporting UPI platforms, retail banking applications, and payment gateways.
  • Strong understanding of banking protocols and digital payment workflows.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Unix/Linux commands, log analysis, and scripting (Shell/Python preferred).
  • Good understanding of monitoring tools, incident tracking systems (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, ServiceNow).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams.
