We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our organization within Amazon's People eXperience & Technology (PXT) organization.

About the Role:

This role is a key member of the Employee Services Technology team, responsible for leading architectural design and development of critical platform features ensuring solutions are highly scalable maintainable and align with AWS best practices.

  • Lead cross-team technical initiatives and drive consensus on architectural decisions
  • Design and build robust integration patterns between multiple HR systems while ensuring data security and compliance
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions

You will also partner with SDE-IIIs and Principal Engineers in the organization to drive execution of 3-year architecture plans (3YAP) for technology as well as drive trade-off decisions balancing long-term vision with delivering immediate impact to customers.

A day in the life of this role includes:

  • Writing maintainable well-structured and testable code to advance your in-flight project and submitting a code review to the team
  • Designing a system to solve an Amazon scale problem and presenting a design document to the team to build consensus on your recommended approach
  • Attending a team-level operations review meeting to understand system health and identifying actions we need to take to keep the system available for clients

We are part of Amazon's PXT organization focused on building and evolving the Unified Service Console USC - a transformative platform that revolutionizes how HR support is delivered to clients worldwide.

In addition you will work closely with other engineers to drive the execution of technology architecture plans and make strategic decisions about technology investments.
