Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in road safety and mobility, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful urban mobility programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Policy & Strategy: Develop, implement, and periodically review state road safety policy and action plan, advise on alignment with national road safety frameworks and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
  • Infrastructure Planning & Design: Evaluate design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects, including highways, urban roads, intersections, and vulnerable user zones, recommend countermeasures for high-risk areas and conduct road safety audits.
  • Data Analysis & Research: Analyze crash data, road user patterns, and conduct causal analysis to identify trends and risk factors, maintain and update road safety database, prepare periodic performance reports and targets for safety indicators.
  • Capacity Building & Training: Design and deliver capacity building workshops for engineers, enforcement officers, planners, drivers, and community groups, develop knowledge-sharing resources and toolkits on road safety best practices.
  • Community Engagement: Lead the design and execution of road safety awareness campaigns for the public, collaborate with local NGOs, schools, and community leaders for safe mobility initiatives.
  • Enforcement & Monitoring: Work with police and traffic enforcement teams to strengthen compliance with road safety laws, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of enforcement and engineering interventions.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Facilitate meetings among diverse government agencies for integrated safety improvements, represent the state at national road safety forums and stakeholder consultations.
  • Technology & Innovation: Advocate for the adoption of intelligent traffic management systems, GIS-based accident mapping, and emerging safety technologies, advise state authorities on procurement and deployment of digital enforcement and monitoring tools.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in transportation planning/engineering, urban planning, urban design, public policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mobility and/or road safety in India.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful urban mobility programs.
  • Strong understanding of Indian policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Auto Cad, GIS, Photoshops, and data analysis tools.
  • Hindi and English fluency is a must. Odiya is preferable.
