Job Description:

The Product Development Manager is accountable for creating a global product roadmap, driving product development, providing support to the sales team, and serving as a global expert for assigned products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a global product roadmap that considers end customer needs, distributor requirements, industry trends, and competition insights.
  • Initiate and drive product development based on product strategy and new opportunities identified.
  • Support sales teams by launching new products and enhancing existing ones with compelling value propositions.
  • Be the global expert for assigned products, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and collaboration.

Opportunity Management:

  • Conduct market studies, application studies, and competition benchmarking to identify business opportunities.
  • Analyze business potential towards revenue targets, technical feasibility, and statutory requirements to inform strategic decisions.

Product Initiation & Development:

  • Develop a product roadmap to initiate new products and improve existing ones, aligning with business objectives.
  • Capture Voice of Customer (VoC), conduct competition benchmarking, and collaborate with stakeholders to create effective product specifications.
  • Determine target product positioning and pricing strategies.
  • Prioritize products based on business goals and resource allocation.

Product Launch:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely availability of technical documents and sales collateral.
  • Prepare sales documents, training content, and marketing materials to support successful product launches.

Product Support:

  • Provide engineering solutions to address non-standard sales inquiries, promoting exceptional customer satisfaction.

Business Monitoring:

  • Monitor sales trends of launched products, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct comparative studies to understand gaps in the market and optimize product offerings.
  • Understand orders lost to competition and analyze reasons to inform future product development strategies.
  • Manage product lifecycle effectively, ensuring continuous growth and adaptation.

Education Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. An MBA in Marketing/Sales is preferred but not mandatory.

Core Skills:

  • Mid-level experience in product management or sales of industrial products.
  • Strong market research and business acumen skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide informed decisions.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving expertise.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of compressors or any industrial machinery and their applications.
  • Experience in managing product lifecycle and contributing to business growth.
