Machine Shop Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee the daily operations of our machine shop. As a Machine Shop Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled machinists and ensuring production targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily operations of the machine shop and ensure productivity levels are maintained.
  • Manage and lead a team of machinists and operators, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Develop and implement production schedules and workflow plans to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment by conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor machine performance and conduct regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Manage inventory of materials and tools, ordering supplies as needed to maintain production levels.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a machine shop environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control measures in a manufacturing setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
