Job Title:

Cyber Security Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Specialist to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect our systems, networks, and data.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security best practices. They will work closely with IT, DevOps, and Compliance teams to ensure comprehensive cybersecurity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge security solutions to safeguard IT infrastructure, applications, and data.
  • Monitor networks and systems for potential security breaches, anomalies, and threats.
  • Conduct regular thorough vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Develop and maintain effective incident response plans; lead response to complex security incidents.
  • Perform rigorous risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Configure and manage advanced firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and other security tools.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into DevSecOps practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Maintain and update comprehensive security documentation, runbooks, and technical reports.
  • Educate employees and developers on cybersecurity awareness and secure coding practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong understanding of network, application, and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, Wireshark, etc.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, OSCP, or GIAC.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
  • Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture.
