Job Title: Automotive Gateway Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to lead the development of sophisticated sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools, with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
  • Design models for seamless integration into simulation environments, ensuring efficient data exchange and minimal latency.
  • Establish interface standards for model consumption across platforms, promoting consistency and ease of use.
  • Lead data collection efforts from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization, leveraging statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing system performance.
  • Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements, ensuring rigorous testing and quality assurance.
  • Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions, accounting for uncertainty and variability.
  • Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support, maintaining version control and traceability.
  • Promote collaboration across teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to gather and align requirements, fostering open communication and knowledge sharing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment.
  • Balance short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions, making informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Harmonize virtualization requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains, ensuring consistency and coherence.

Requirements Definition:

  • Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems, considering scalability, flexibility, and maintainability.
  • Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies, accounting for complexity and nuance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field, with a strong foundation in mathematics and computer science.
  • 5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain, with expertise in Simulink, MATLAB, and other modeling tools.
  • Proficiency in software development, data analysis, and problem-solving, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
