Job Description

This role is accountable for overseeing the planning, coordination, and management of resources to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, effectively, and according to specified quality standards.

Construction Project Engineers collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee that projects are executed in accordance with plan specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring project progress against the master schedule.
  • Ensuring site work aligns with drawings and specifications.
  • Providing timely reminders to contractors regarding schedule delays.
  • Verifying the workability and adherence to standards in work statements/methodologies submitted by contractors.
  • Anticipating and flagging imminent bottlenecks. Taking steps to avoid delays and furnishing necessary reports on critical activities to clients.
  • Advising contractors on enhancing resource productivity through various work study techniques.
  • Monitoring material procurement, equipment, and labor by contractors in line with time schedules and advising suitable measures for improvement.
  • Administration of all contracts and assistance in resolving differences/disputes arising during contract duration.
  • Assisting QA/QC-in-charge in ensuring all quality parameters are met.
  • Collaborating with the safety team to implement safety standards at site and providing support for job safety analysis.
  • Escalating abnormal developments to project managers regarding progress, safety, quality, resources, etc.
  • Clarifying specifications and liaising continuously with accountable project managers internally.
  • Monitoring construction activity, schedule, milestones, and adherence to budgets, initiating actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
  • Providing cost-saving solutions and negotiating contractor change orders.
  • Managing the project's risk management process.
  • Implementing system requirements in installation and test plans for the detailed planning and construction phase until final takeover is completed.
  • Ensuring project construction and safety management plans are fully implemented.
