2D Art Specialist

Role Summary

The 2D Art Specialist is responsible for designing and illustrating 2D characters tailored for mobile gaming platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design visually engaging 2D backgrounds, props, clothing, and additional game art assets.
  • Adhere to a structured production pipeline, ensuring timely and efficient creation of production-ready art.
  • Export and assemble final assets from source files, following technical guidelines and file specifications.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and artistic workflows.
  • Maintain consistency by matching existing art styles and accurately identifying differences across visual styles.
  • Integrate and test assets in Unity to ensure seamless in-game performance.
  • Regularly play our games to assess aesthetics, user experience, and gameplay flow.
  • Offer clear, actionable feedback on visual and gameplay enhancements based on playtesting.
  • Stay current with tools and workflows, adapting to new techniques as needed.
  • Ensure visual consistency by matching established styles and identifying deviations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong foundation in graphic design principles, with a focus on creating visually appealing 2D art assets.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, with advanced skills in 2D character illustration and editing.
  • Experience in creating 2D characters, backgrounds, props, clothing, and other visual assets for mobile games.
  • Ability to follow and contribute to a structured production pipeline, ensuring efficient and technically accurate asset delivery.
  • Skilled in exporting and assembling images from art files according to defined technical parameters and protocols.
  • Quick to learn and apply new technical skills, tools, and workflows.
  • Strong aesthetic sense with a solid understanding of color theory and composition.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining thorough working habits.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced production environments and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Passionate about mobile gaming—with hands-on experience in designing and producing art specifically for mobile game titles.
  • Capable of matching a wide range of art styles and visually distinguishing between them for consistent and cohesive asset creation.
