Accounting and Finance Expert

We are seeking a skilled Accounting and Finance Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, and taxation processes.

About the Role:

The Accounting and Finance Expert will be responsible for designing and executing test cases for accounting software based on business and accounting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test cases for accounting software.
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on financial modules.
  • Validate that double-entry bookkeeping principles are applied correctly across all transactions.
  • Ensure accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of ledgers.
  • Test compliance with relevant tax rules and regulations.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Collaborate with product managers, accountants, and developers to refine requirements and test coverage.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of accounting workflows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Knowledge of taxation frameworks.
  • Prior experience in software testing or QA for financial applications is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Tally, NetSuite).
  • Understanding of automation testing tools for financial applications.
  • Experience in audit, compliance, or financial reporting.
