The Opportunity

We're seeking a seasoned Product Design Manager to lead our Consumer Facing Design Team. As a key member of our design leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the vision for accommodation funnels that directly engage our customers. Through your design leadership and strategic insights, you'll collaborate closely with product stakeholders to deliver seamless experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage scope of work for your team, determining how to divide work amongst designers.
  • Lead design strategy for complex initiatives and grow design leaders.
  • Drive design vs business objectives and measurement alignment on core product initiatives.
  • Ensure successful execution by your team, surfacing and addressing questions, bottlenecks, dependencies, and conflicts as they arise.
  • Maintain and apply a process for effective design.
  • Build a healthy, high-performing, capability-complete team, hiring designers to fill open headcount and fostering a positive culture.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to hone their competencies and grow in their careers.
  • Represent your team upwards to your manager, advocating for their priorities and flagging any underperformers or stakeholder misalignments.
  • Partner with a design leadership team to shape management practices and mentor other design leaders.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading design strategy for complex initiatives and growing design leaders.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, persuading and building alignment with senior leaders around a vision and approach.
  • Holistic thinking to identify customer experience opportunities that create impact across the organization.
  • Partnership with a design leadership team to shape management practices and mentor other design leaders.
  • Advancements in the field of product design to guide the skills and practices of your team.
  • Deep understanding of current native technologies and design patterns, guiding your design team to use these in practice.
