Job Opportunity: Security Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing proactive monitoring and technical support to ensure the seamless operation of our clients' security infrastructures.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to our clients' business operations.

As a Security Infrastructure Specialist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our security services and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor work queues to identify potential issues and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Perform operational tasks to resolve incidents and requests in a timely manner, adhering to agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Update tickets with resolution tasks performed and provide clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Investigate, analyze, and log incidents and errors in a timely manner, capturing all relevant information for immediate resolution.
  • Provide second-level support to incidents and requests, identifying root causes and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Communicate with other teams and clients to extend support and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Execute changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans, following shift handover processes and highlighting key tickets for focus.
  • Escalate tickets to seek additional focus from CoE and management teams if required.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to optimize effort and automate routine tasks.
  • Work across various resolver groups, including Service Providers and TAC teams.
  • Identify and address problems before they impact client services.
  • Assist L1 Security Engineers in initial triage or troubleshooting, leading and managing client escalations for operational issues.
  • Contribute to change management by logging all change requests with complete details, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to Configuration Item standards.
  • Audit and analyze incident and request tickets for quality, recommending improvements and updating knowledge articles.
  • Produce trend analysis reports to identify tasks for automation, leading to reduced tickets and optimized effort.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with IT/Computing systems.
  • Relevant managed services experience handling security infrastructure, with moderate knowledge of ticketing tools and ITIL processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different cultures and social groups.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong active listening skills, with ability to apply paraphrasing and probing techniques.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience).
  • Certifications relevant to services supported, such as CCNA certification in Security or PCNSE.
