Energy Transition Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead business development efforts and facilitate energy transition through innovative, finance-focused approaches. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of India's electricity, capital, and financial markets, as well as exceptional communication skills and strong connections within the Indian power and/or finance community.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage established network of international financial institutions and personal local financial connections to develop, structure, and close financial transactions for current and upcoming energy transition projects in India.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects encompassing business development, origination, new market initiatives, and project management.
  • Effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders including clients, other consultants, key industry players, and regulatory bodies.
  • Supervise and prepare client deliverables including research and write-ups.
  • Lead management of transactions and engagements.
  • Review existing laws and regulations, industry and economic trends, and other data required to complete reports.
  • Conduct due diligence, prepare, and review financial models.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in climate, energy transition, finance, and business development.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong connections within the Indian power and/or finance community.
  • A deep understanding of India's electricity, capital, and financial markets.
  • Proven track record in deal closure, particularly in debt and/or equity financing in India.
  • Prior experience in country team management or a supervisory role is preferred.
