Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, including sizing, scaling, and automation of database resources.
  • Develop and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store, identifying and resolving bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working with Azure MS-SQL databases.
  • Proficiency in designing and architecting public cloud environments, such as Oracle OCI or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, network, and security.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
  • Experience with SQL Server Upgrade and Migration to Azure.
  • Experience with large-scale complex database architecture with replication and DR.
