Embedded Systems Lead – Automotive Gateway

Job Title: Embedded Systems Lead – Automotive Gateway & Diagnostics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments such as VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modeling & Simulation:
    • Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools. The ideal candidate will have expertise in modeling complex systems and ensuring seamless integration into various simulation platforms.
    • Architect models that meet the requirements of VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments, ensuring smooth data exchange and minimal latency.
    • Define and maintain interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms, facilitating efficient collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Data Acquisition & Characterization:
    • Lead data collection efforts from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization, leveraging advanced tools and techniques to ensure accuracy and precision.
    • Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior, making informed decisions to optimize system performance.
  • Testing & Validation:
    • Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements, ensuring comprehensive coverage and robust testing.
    • Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions, guaranteeing reliable performance in diverse scenarios.
  • Change & Release Management:
    • Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support, maintaining a structured approach to change management.
    • Maintain traceability and version control across model updates, facilitating easy tracking and auditing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements, fostering effective communication and cooperation.
    • Balance short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions, making strategic decisions to optimize resource allocation.
    • Harmonize virtualization requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains, ensuring consistency and cohesion throughout the development process.
  • Requirements Definition:
    • Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems, capturing the intricacies of each domain and ensuring accurate representation.
    • Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies, mitigating risks and ensuring reliable performance.
