Scientific Graphic Designer Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Graphic Designer to join our global team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually stunning graphical abstracts that capture the essence of scientific studies.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop engaging visual narratives that align with client objectives and scientific content. To achieve this, you will work closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize visual representations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) to create high-quality visual content. Experience in scientific graphic designing, medical illustrations, journal cover designs, and graphical abstracts is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create visually appealing graphical abstracts that effectively communicate complex scientific ideas.
  • Develop storyboards that outline the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with client objectives and scientific content.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize visual representations.
  • Review peers' and freelancers' outputs to ensure they meet client expectations and are delivery-ready.

To excel in this role, you will require a graduate or PhD degree in STEM fields, particularly Biology/Biotechnology/Medicine/Chemistry/Physics/Engineering. Additionally, you should possess 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing, communicating science and complex research into visually engaging output.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing, communicating science and complex research into visually engaging output.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • An added advantage in creating 3D designs using Blender.
  • Experience in scientific graphic designing, medical illustrations, journal cover designs, and graphical abstracts.
  • An understanding of the scientific publishing & science communication landscape.
