Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Taxation Manager to lead our tax-related responsibilities in Mumbai. This role will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for tax compliance, planning, and strategy.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee accurate calculation and timely payment of taxes, filing of various tax returns and forms, ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting of taxes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), prepare and review tax provisions, and report to stakeholders.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to optimize tax liability, undertake analysis to support business decisions, collaborate with finance and business teams, monitor changes in tax laws, and provide tax advice to management and stakeholders.
  • Business Advisory and Partnering: Provide tax advice, oversee inter-company setup of global COE, maintain track of compliance, litigation matters, and escalate the same, and assist HR on employee payroll taxes.
  • Other Key Functions: Work closely with advisors and consultants for optimizing company taxation, and tax-related assistance in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant with 8-12 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling with at least 5 years in taxation.
  • Well conversant with tax laws, changes, and new developments, experience in manufacturing setups, MNC background, plant accounting, costing, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), ERP, and reporting systems (SAP and Hyperion).
  • Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, ability to make decisions, highly analytical, data and detail-oriented, advanced Excel skills, Microsoft Office applications, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of managing teams, effective oral and written communication skills, and strong working relationship with segment heads and cross-functional teams.
