Job Title: Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Prime Hire Inc. and contribute to the design, development, and management of our data processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable data processing systems using Spark and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
  • Develop data pipelines and workflows using Scala or Python, incorporating best practices and design patterns.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins for automated deployments.
  • Utilize orchestration tools such as Airflow or Automic to manage and schedule data workflows.
  • Apply data warehousing concepts, including slowly changing dimensions (SCD), for effective data manipulation and processing.
  • Engage in system design and architecture planning for scalable data solutions.
  • Work with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, to deploy and manage big data solutions.
  • Handle streaming data use-cases using technologies like Kafka or structured streaming.
  • Understand and work with multi-hop architectures (optional but advantageous).
  • Implement data governance practices and work with tools such as Collibra for data quality and metadata.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience with Spark and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Hands-on expertise in Scala or Python for data engineering tasks.
  • Proficiency in SQL with a strong focus on query optimization.
  • Familiarity with programming design patterns and system design principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow or Automic.
  • Practical experience in data processing, data warehousing concepts, and data manipulation techniques.
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP; Azure experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to streaming data technologies like Kafka or structured streaming.
  • Working knowledge of data governance tools, such as Collibra, and experience with data quality and metadata management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or training in relevant technologies (e.g., GCP, Spark).
  • Experience in additional cloud platforms or data governance tools.
