Expert Aerodynamics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert in Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace simulation and design, with experience in OpenFOAM and a passion for advancing aerodynamics.

  • Set up, run, and analyze CFD simulations for 2D airfoils, 3D wings, and full aircraft models using OpenFOAM.
  • Handle flow regimes ranging from incompressible to hypersonic conditions.
  • Select appropriate solvers, turbulence models, and thermophysical models based on simulation needs.
  • Generate high-quality meshes using OpenFOAM's native meshing tools or external pre-processors.
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation of pre-processing, simulation control, and post-processing.
  • Extract and interpret aerodynamic performance metrics, such as lift, drag, pressure distribution, and shock characteristics.
  • Validate CFD results through comparison with experimental data or established literature.
  • Document simulation setups, assumptions, and findings for internal use and reporting.
Aerodynamics Simulation Expertise

The selected candidate will be part of our growing engineering team, working closely with experienced professionals to develop cutting-edge solutions for complex aerospace challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with OpenFOAM for aerodynamic simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, including compressible and incompressible flows.
  • Ability to simulate complex geometries, including full aircraft configurations.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for CFD automation.
  • Experience with mesh generation tools compatible with OpenFOAM.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with hypersonic flow physics and related modeling techniques.
  • Experience in HPC environments and parallel computing.
  • Knowledge of turbulence and transition modeling.
  • Exposure to aircraft design or UAV aerodynamics.
  • Additional CFD software experience is a plus.
