Revenue Optimization Leader

Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead revenue maximization efforts across all business streams. This entails maintaining Revenue Management standards, scrutinizing and measuring business performance against established goals, and monitoring thresholds within a 2-3 year forecast to ensure tangible improvements in demand and availability.

This position requires collaboration with each region to develop targeted strategies for growth, conducting analysis of citywide and special events, and implementing Revenue Management strategies to maximize demand generators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct short- and long-term forecasting to comprehend trends in group inventories and rates, including occupancy, goals, product line, and strategic sales goals.
  • Analyze and monitor marketing channels, key accounts, and other account production to ensure that all major channels of distribution effectively support the product and maintain rate parity.
  • Review future bookings and evaluate trends to inform business decisions.
  • Update all channels of distribution as needed with rate or inventory restrictions.
  • Collaborate with each region to develop region-specific strategies to ensure growth and establish appropriate goals and benchmarks to measure performance.
  • Monitor and analyze the competition weekly through various channels to identify selling strategies and emerging trends.
  • Explore and provide variations in the market mix to stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs.
  • Maintain software programs that contribute to revenue management and assist with the implementation of Revenue Management basics and standards.
  • Foster a culture of Revenue Management throughout all departments and develop succession planning for Revenue Management talent.
Requirements:
  • MBA or Post Graduate in Finance & Revenue Management preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the travel/airline/hotel industry with 3-5 years in Revenue Management.
Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing, and other revenue management functions, including research, planning, market positioning, market segments, internal marketing, distribution channels, sales management, reservations, and yield management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and use operational, financial, and marketing data to maintain and improve market share/penetration goals.
  • Understanding of business operations and ability to associate with their needs through the revenue department.
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure and quickly adapt to a constantly changing market.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
