UAV Design Engineer

Creative problem solvers in UAV design are sought after by our company to lead the conceptual and detailed design of fixed-wing and/or VTOL UAV platforms from concept through to prototype and production.

Our aerospace technology company is focused on designing and developing advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for defense, commercial, and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the design of UAV airframes and sub-systems including aerodynamic analysis and optimization of UAV configurations.
  • Design structural components and assemblies using advanced composite and lightweight materials.
  • Develop 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
  • Work with electronics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Conduct structural and thermal analysis to validate design performance.
  • Participate in UAV prototyping, assembly, ground testing, and flight trials.
  • Document design processes and support regulatory compliance for airworthiness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in UAV or aircraft design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structural design.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing VTOL, hybrid, or long-endurance UAV platforms.
  • Familiarity with autopilot systems and avionics integration.
