**Critical Care Specialist in Liver ICU**: This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled critical care specialist. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Critical Care Specialist in our Liver Intensive Care Unit (LICU).
We take pride in providing exceptional patient care, and our LICU team is dedicated to delivering the highest level of care to critically ill patients with acute liver failure, decompensated cirrhosis, and multi-organ dysfunction. As a Critical Care Specialist in our LICU, you will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, administering appropriate therapies, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Management: You will be responsible for managing critically ill patients with acute liver failure, decompensated cirrhosis, and multi-organ dysfunction. This includes administering appropriate therapies, such as vasopressors, plasma exchange, CRRT, and ventilation.
- Advanced ICU Support: You will provide advanced support to patients in our ICU, including hemodynamic monitoring, renal replacement therapy, and management of coagulopathy, infection, cerebral edema, and metabolic derangements.
- Transplant & Multidisciplinary Coordination: You will work closely with hepatologists, transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and infectious disease teams to prepare and optimize patients for liver transplantation from ICU. You will also coordinate pre- and post-operative ICU management for transplant recipients.
- Documentation & Quality Control: You will maintain detailed patient records, clinical notes, and handovers. You will also monitor infection control practices and ICU protocol adherence, and participate in mortality reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Family Counseling & Communication: You will provide empathetic and transparent communication with families of critically ill patients, discussing prognosis, treatment options, and potential transplant outcomes.
- Academic & Training Responsibilities: You will teach and guide junior doctors, fellows, residents, and nursing staff in LICU care, participating in CMEs, conferences, and clinical audits, and involving in research and data collection related to liver intensive care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- MD/MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Board certification in Critical Care Medicine
- Experience in managing critically ill patients with acute liver failure, decompensated cirrhosis, and multi-organ dysfunction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
