Job Title: Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily network operations and respond to network-related tickets in a timely and effective manner.
  • Resolve issues such as network downtime, slowness, BGP Flapping, etc.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices like routers, switches, access points.
  • Collaborate with site support personnel to verify power supply and physical connectivity.
  • Engage with ISPs and onsite engineers to resolve internet or link down issues.
  • Maintain stable and reliable network services.
  • Monitor day-to-day network performance.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze network faults; repair hardware.
  • Generate and respond to trouble tickets; escalate internally and externally as necessary.
  • Install network hardware and software.
  • Complete Service-Now tickets within the SLA. Perform network configuration changes according to change management processes.
  • Respond to alerts by following documented procedures for verification, determination, and resolution or escalation.
  • Create and maintain network documentation regarding network configuration, diagrams, and processes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network traffic flow, packet analysis/capture, and monitoring.
  • Ability to work independently/under minimal supervision and in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in DDI (DNS), products like Infoblox, QIP, etc., or Linux-based BIND DNS servers.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the network space across diverse enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS).
  • Proven experience in network troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of technologies including IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service; MPLS; STP, RSTP, VLANs, VPC, HSRP, VRRP, STP, Wireless (Cisco and Juniper) and DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM).
  • Ability to take ownership of daily network operations and respond to tickets efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with users and cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-ENT, JNCIS-SP in networking or related fields are beneficial.
