Job Overview:

The Cyber Security Assessment role involves monitoring and evaluating cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents impacting released medical devices.

This includes leading post-market security investigations and coordinating vulnerability response and remediation activities to ensure the safety of patients and maintain regulatory compliance.

A key responsibility is performing risk assessments and impact analyses in alignment with FDA, ISO/IEC 81001-5-1, and NIST cybersecurity frameworks to identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Maintenance and improvement of post-market surveillance processes for cybersecurity are also critical aspects of this role.

Collaboration with product teams to develop and deploy security patches and updates is essential to ensuring the integrity of medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading post-market security investigations
  • Coordinating vulnerability response and remediation activities
  • Performing risk assessments and impact analyses
  • Maintaining post-market surveillance processes
  • Collaborating with product teams to develop and deploy security patches and updates
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
  • Six years of general cybersecurity experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Three years of product security experience, preferably in medical devices, in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Three years of vulnerability management experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Three years of cybersecurity process development experience
  • Experience assessing and improving cybersecurity maturity using the NIST CSF Implementation Tiers (Partial, Risk-Informed, Repeatable, Adaptive)
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with IT, business partners, and working with internal and external audits to assess security controls and compliance
  • Master's degree in an Information Technology field from an accredited institution
  • Proven experience in evaluating and advancing organizational cybersecurity maturity aligned with NIST CSF Implementation Tiers (Tier 1-4)
  • Three years of medical device post-market experience
  • Familiarity with global healthcare data privacy and security regulations, including FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR
