Performance Testing Specialist

Job Overview

• We are looking for a highly skilled Performance Testing Specialist to develop and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies.

About the Role

• The ideal candidate will design, script, and execute load, stress, and scalability testing, ensuring high-quality results that meet our business needs.
• They will deliver in-depth reports to stakeholders on key findings and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain technical expertise in performance/load testing best practices.
• Design and develop solutions for supporting Cloud-based environments and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Communicate effectively across multiple teams and external vendors.
• Monitor server metrics using Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop innovative solutions that align with industry standards.
• Analyze business requirements, solution designs, and process documentation to identify feasible business-critical transactions.
• Implement best performance testing practices and standards within our enterprise solution.

Operational Management

• Conduct endurance, stress, load, and volume testing to validate production readiness of software applications and infrastructure.
• Provide performance testing support for respective business units.
• Coordinate and execute creation of Test Cases, scripts, and performance test execution.
• Design, develop, and execute scripts that validate test cases defined within project test plans.
• Perform load testing across multiple messaging protocols, focusing on overall application performance and validating application responses accurately reflect business requirements.

People Leadership

• Mentor and guide junior team members in their professional growth and development.

Governance & Risk

• Track and communicate task progress, status, and key performance metrics.
• Use standard defect tracking tools to promptly and accurately report defects found during testing.

Experience & Personal Attributes

• 7+ years of experience in performance testing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with OpenText LoadRunner and protocols such as Citrix, RDP, Java, and mobile technologies.
• Significant experience working with JMeter and APM tools including New Relic and Grafana.
• Proven experience with SOAP Web Services and RESTful Web Services testing using SOAP UI, Postman, and Swagger.
• Strong knowledge and experience in performance testing principles, techniques, and standards, including test design, test execution, test reporting, and test management.
• Strong knowledge and experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software quality assurance (SQA) processes and practices, including agile, waterfall, and DevOps.
• Strong knowledge and experience in CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins, Azure Repos, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience working on continuous improvement projects is beneficial.
• Experience working in distributed delivery models with teams across different regions is advantageous.
