Job Description

As a dedicated educator, you will be working with students who require specialized instruction and support. Your role will involve developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs, providing customized instruction, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other staff members.
  • Delivering instruction to students based on their individual needs and learning styles.
  • Modifying the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.
  • Implementing and monitoring behavior intervention plans and using positive behavior supports.
  • Working closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
  • Assessing and tracking student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.
  • Maintaining a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

For this role, we are looking for someone with expertise in special education, strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy. You should have proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices. Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams is essential.

Some key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.
  • 3 to 7 years experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Fluency in English and Tamil.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies.
