Cloud Systems Engineer

The primary function of this position is to ensure the optimal performance, scalability and reliability of our cloud-based system.

A key member of our QA team will be responsible for conducting thorough performance testing, load testing, stress testing, and soak testing to validate the system's robustness under various conditions. This includes simulating production-like environments, analyzing bottlenecks and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and address performance issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the architecture of our cloud suite, including microservices, UI, data/control flows, databases, and hosted runtime.
  • Design and implement robust tests using Locust, JMeter, or similar tools.
  • Set up and manage scalable test environments to mimic production loads.
  • Analyze performance test results and infrastructure metrics to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for automated baselining and regression detection.

In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, S3, etc., and familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, and APM tools like Datadog, New Relic, or similar.

This role requires a strong understanding of system internals, cloud infrastructure, and modern observability tools. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system metrics: CPU, memory, disk I/O, network throughput, etc., and proficiency in scripting and automation (Python preferred) for custom test scenarios and analysis.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in Performance Testing/Engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise with Locust, JMeter, or equivalent load testing tools.
