About the Cloud Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our product suite team. The ideal candidate will have strong background in computer science, experience with cloud-native technologies and willingness to learn new technologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of cloud-native products and services for our Kubernetes product ecosystem.
  • Learn and collaborate with the team to design and implement the product roadmap.
  • Support cloud infrastructure deployments using Platform9 products, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our product line.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with programming in Python or Golang.
  • 8-12 years of experience in a software development role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, switching, routing, and network protocols.
  • Prior experience in developing networking products (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes or Openstack/Devstack is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Linux networking stack, kernel modules, and device drivers is a plus.
