About the Role

As a highly skilled Industrial Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead design configuration and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for individuals with 4+ years of experience in SCADA and MES engineering within the manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.

You will also ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA, MES) with enterprise IT systems, ERP databases, and cloud services. Your technical expertise will be used to develop and maintain secure and efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.

In addition, you will manage industrial databases, SQL historian, timeseries databases for high availability and performance.

Collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams will be crucial to align system capabilities with production and business needs. As a technical leader, you will provide guidance on digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.

Troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting existing SCADA/MES deployments will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring minimal downtime.

You will mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Requirements:
  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA, Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment.
  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation/Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Certifications (Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications).
