Senior Network Defender

We are seeking a seasoned Network Security Specialist to join our team.

• Responsibilities include managing network security with expertise in Fortinet/Cisco Firewalls and IPS, as well as proficiently managing Firewall and NIPS solutions.
• Experience in working with Windows, Linux, and Unix environments is required.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with commissioning and implementation of various Firewall & NIPS solutions and integrating with management and authentication authorization tools.
• They should be skilled in managing policies and exceptions, as well as proficient in packet capture, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
• A strong understanding of firewall, NIPS, SSL, Routing Protocols, Dual Factor Authentication, and other relevant technologies is essential.
• Incident, problem, service request management, change management, configuration management, and capacity management of Firewall & NIPS setups are also key responsibilities.
• Day-to-day BAU configuration changes, proactive utilization of network monitoring tools, and supporting incident monitoring and incident analysis/response initiatives are expected.
• The specialist will work closely with users to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution for any trouble tickets, and have the ability to troubleshoot layers 1, 2, and 3 of the OSI Model.
• Applying security patches, daily performance checks on devices, periodic audits, and compliance are all part of this critical role.
• Immediate troubleshooting for any network outages as reported by users, sensors, and/or operational personnel is required.
• Implementing and maintaining network security policy, standards, and procedures, deploying and maintaining access-list and firewall policies are crucial skills.
• Maintaining service levels, oversight of day-to-day configuration, administration, and monitoring of the network security infrastructure in a 24/7 environment is necessary.
• Coordination with OEMs for TAC support, RMA, replacement, and reconfiguration of faulty Firewalls/NIPS, creating technical documentation, as-built network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and security documentation are additional responsibilities.
• Investigating, isolating, and resolving firewall & NIPS incidents with RCA, coordinating helpdesk team, other IT support teams, application support teams to jointly troubleshoot and fix high-priority/severity incidents, designing and implementing firewall, Site to Site VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions for DC/DR/Cloud and Branch office environments are key components of the job.
• Creating and updating knowledgebase in ITSM tools, identifying areas for automation of operational efficiency, working to automate and integrate tools with REST API/SDK with security dashboard, Infosec tools (AD, IDAM, PAM, SIEM, SOAR etc.) are also expected.
• Patch updates, upgradation of Firewalls & NIPS as per compliance and audit requirements, closure of compliance and audits points as per agreed timelines are ongoing tasks.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in network security with at least 5 years in Fortinet/Cisco Firewalls and IPS.
• Proficient in managing Firewall and NIPS solutions.
• Hands-on experience with commissioning and implementation of various Firewall & NIPS solutions.
• Strong understanding of firewall, NIPS, SSL, Routing Protocols, Dual Factor Authentication, and other relevant technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot layers 1, 2, and 3 of the OSI Model.
• Knowledge of packet capture, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with incident, problem, service request management, change management, configuration management, and capacity management of Firewall & NIPS setups.
• Understanding of network monitoring tools and their proactive utilization.
• Ability to create technical documentation, as-built network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and security documentation.
