Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to lead our sourcing, procurement, and vendor development initiatives. This is a critical role requiring strong commercial acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and execution excellence.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a strong vendor base for Raw Materials (RM) and Packaging Materials (PM), aligned with quality, cost, and service expectations. They will develop procurement strategies that ensure uninterrupted supply at the best value, while mitigating supply risks.

This includes collaborating with R&D and NPD teams for timely onboarding of vendors for new materials and packaging innovations, leading price negotiations, contractual agreements, and driving cost-saving initiatives across the procurement portfolio. The Procurement Specialist will establish procurement KPIs (OTIF, cost, lead time, inventory health) and drive regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management: Build and manage a strong vendor base for RM and PM, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and service expectations.
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop procurement strategies that ensure uninterrupted supply at the best value, while mitigating supply risks.
  • R&D Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D and NPD teams for timely onboarding of vendors for new materials and packaging innovations.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead price negotiations, contractual agreements, and drive cost-saving initiatives across the procurement portfolio.
  • KPI Establishment: Establish procurement KPIs (OTIF, cost, lead time, inventory health) and drive regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Supply Chain, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in RM/PM Procurement, preferably in Food, FMCG, or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to lead procurement projects and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/NetSuite or similar).
  • Comfortable with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of procurement software tools is a plus.
