Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop climate functions for vehicle systems in close collaboration with thermal cooling and heating engineers
  • Set performance targets at individual component level for various components developed by component owners
  • Interact with simulation analysts to analyze cooling & heating system performance virtually
  • Verify heating system test outcomes and recommend necessary actions
  • Ensure legal and certification requirements for heating & cooling systems
  • Lead System FMEA for heating & cooling systems
  • Responsible for securing heating and cooling system requirements like cab heating function
  • Manage Q-Tools like D-FMEA, S-FMEA, Risk register, DFA(Manufacturing) & DFAM (After Market)
  • Deliver engineering tasks independently and guide junior team members within Thermal Management groups
  • Initiate and lead Advanced Engineering work in the area of responsibility

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ME/MTech/BE/BTech in Thermal/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or similar with more than 10 years of experience
  • Experience in Thermal Management system engineering CAB Climate
  • In-depth knowledge of product development life cycle and change management activities required
  • Ability to develop robust time plans and roadmaps for systems according to project milestones
  • Hands-on experience in developing and testing cooling, heating systems and solutions
  • Collaboration skills with mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, software, simulation and data engineers to integrate cooling & heating systems
  • Participation in planning testing & validation of cooling/heating systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cooling/ heating system performance and efficiency
  • Staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to cooling /heating systems and thermal management
  • A structured approach to working and delivering complex tasks with excellence
  • Experience in Future Technologies (e-MOB, H2 ICE, Fuel Cell), 1D Simulations as a merit
  • Knowledge in Volvo GTT development process and tools as a plus
  • Working Knowledge of Global standards for different markets as a plus
