Job Overview

We're seeking experienced engineers to join our Observability team, who can design and maintain scalable systems with a startup mindset.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud-native design, legacy maintenance, and SRE best practices, as well as ideas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design, build, and maintain systems proactively.
  • Influence system design and architecture while maintaining critical legacy tools.
  • Work with software and platform engineers to optimize and develop repeatable systems.
  • Help service owners set realistic Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide production support and creatively solve complex engineering problems.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to increase efficiency.
  • Mentor new hires and other engineers through example, tech talks, paired programming, and other avenues.
Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles, or software development, with an understanding of Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud platforms GCP, AWS, Azure, and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Server-side software engineering skills (Python, Go, Java, BASH, etc).
  • Design experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting, with a focus on performance monitoring and tracing instrumentation, and SLI/SLO/SLAs.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Passion for leading large technical initiatives and influencing design decisions.
  • Ample experience gathering and balancing requirements from technical and business stakeholders, and reaching consensus on prioritization.
