About the Role:
The Senior Applied Science Manager is responsible for owning the complete science mission and team for Advertising Trust. As a global organization with a highly matrixed structure, this role reports directly to the VP of Advertising Trust. The Senior Applied Science Manager will apply state-of-the-art technologies across computer vision, LLM training, and application to deliver on this mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop bold visions with highly specific roadmaps to achieve those visions.
• Hire and develop entire teams, including Principals and new hires, all the way to the Science team.
• Take full service ownership of teams, including developing research and engineering product roadmaps, developing and tracking relevant metrics, and ensuring system performance.
• Coach and develop scientists to maintain standards and drive career growth for direct reports.
• Build a team culture around technical excellence and strong delivery.
About the Team:
Advertising Trust (AT) is at the center of Amazon Ads, one of Amazon's fastest-growing businesses. AT creates policies that simplify complex regulatory, legal, regional, cultural, and customer expectations in over 30 countries. The team is responsible for properly approving or rejecting ads within SLA, ensuring no ambiguity, and allowing ads to reach their optimal audience.
